Preterism holds that Ancient Israel finds its continuation or fulfillment in the Christian church at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.
The term preterism comes from the Latin praeter, which Webster’s 1913 dictionary lists as a prefix denoting that something is “past” or “beyond”.
Preterism does not take Yehovah’s words to Jerimiah into account when He says ; ““And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.”” Jeremiah 31:34
And again as it is written in Hebrews: ““Because this is the covenant that I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, says יהוה, giving My laws in their mind, and I shall write them on their hearts, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. And they shall by no means teach each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ because they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. Because I shall forgive their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawlessnesses I shall no longer remember.” By saying, ‘renewed,’ He has made the first old. Now what becomes old and growing aged is near disappearing*.” Hebrews 8:10-13 ISR98 * Not yet disappeared as the Heavens and Earth still exists and not all has been fulfilled that was given to the prophets.
Below is a video debate with Zack and Dr. Don Preston. (warning the video is long, 10 seconds shy of two hours.) Dr. Preston is a preterist.
I find it sad and extremely frustrating when a non-Torah follower answers questions without actually answering them. It only provides proof what it says in scripture, in →John 14:17-20, →1 Corinthians 2:14, →2 Corinthians 4:3-4, and especially →John 12:39-40 when Yeshua says, “Because of this they were unable to believe, because again Yeshayahu said: He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and turn, and I should heal them.”
I’ll end with what it says in Revelation 22:11 when Yeshua says, “He who does wrong, let him do more wrong; he who is filthy, let him be more filthy; he who is righteous, let him be more righteous; he who is set-apart, let him be more set-apart.
