Understanding Isaiah 8:11-22

“For יְהֹוָה spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people (the lawless and disobedience) saying, “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. יְהֹוָה (Elohim or Master) of hosts, Him you shall set apart. Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.

(Don’t do as the world does! Fear יְהֹוָה and obey Him alone who can destroy both body and soul) See: Deuteronomy 6:24, Psalm 31:19, Psalm 33:18-19, Psalm 112:1, Psalm 128:1, Luke 1:50, Revelation 11:18.

“And He (Yehovah) shall be for a set-apart place, but (He is) a stone of stumbling and a rock that makes for falling to both the houses of Yisra’ĕl, (and) as a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. “And many among them shall stumble and fall, and be broken and snared and taken.”

(You do not want to be taken or “raptured” as many claim they want) See for stumbling block: Matthew 16:23, 1 John 2:10.

Bind up the witness, (and) seal the Torah (My instructions) among my taught ones (disciples).

(Those who obey out of love, fearing the judgement of the end)

And I shall wait on יְהֹוָה, who hides His face from the house of Ya‛aqoḇ. And I shall look for Him. (and find Him, when we seek with all earnestness)

Look, I (Yeshua) and the children whom יְהֹוָה has given me – for signs and wonders in Yisra’ĕl from יְהֹוָה of hosts who dwells in Mount Tsiyon.

And when they (the wrong) say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their Elohim (for) they (mediums and wizards) seek the dead on behalf of the living?

(Posed as two questions instead of one? “(KJV)… should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?” Also of note, the dead are asleep until judgement, so who is really being contacted?)

To the Torah and to the witness! If they do not speak according to this Word {(My) Commands}, it is because they have no (daybreak) light (in them). See: Deuteronomy 18:20-22, 1 John 4:1-6, Matthew 7:15, Matthew 24:24, 2 Peter 2:1, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Romans 16:18.

And they shall pass through it (a grievous or severe way) hard pressed and hungry. And it shall be, when they are hungry, that they shall be wroth and curse their sovereign and their Elohim, looking upward. And they shall look to the earth and see distress and darkness, gloom of hard times, and be driven into thick darkness.”
